We follow the Catholic School Archdiocese of Agana Standards

of Learning and use the textbooks authorized by the Office

Pre-Kindergarten

The Pre-K students at Maria Artero Catholic Preschool & Kindergarten will be taught the alphabet, handwriting, to write and read their name, shapes, colors, numbers 1-10, religion at the Pre-K level, games, songs, story-telling, stories read by the teacher or by video, and rhythm through music.

Prayers to be taught: Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, prayers before and after meals, and the students will be taught how to talk to God in their own words. There are no stringent requirements of "passing" to Kindergarten.

Kindergarten

The Kindergarten child at Maria Artero Catholic Preschool & Kindergarten will learn about Jesus at their own level, and will learn to pray and follow the different seasons of the Church year, such as All Saints' Day, All Souls' Day, Our Lady of Camalin, Christmas, Lent and Easter.

All subjects are based on basic skills of a Kindergarten child. Each child will have a book or copied materials for religion, reading, math, phonics, social studies, and science. The Kindergarten child will be taught how to listen, to adjust to quiet time; learn how to respect others in a quiet, study environment; play games, sing songs; do physical exercise; march and dance; and finally learn how to take tests.

Both the public and private schools demand that we prepare the Kindergarten child in all of the above.
